Press release note: "Misty shroud of regrets” presents a corpus of spleen-piano based ambiences and nightly soundscaping laments for electric organ and darkened chords. The musical ensemble reveals microtonal bitter melodies occasionally punctuated by a few narrative parts, an array of noises, found sounds and field recordings. “Misty shroud of regrets” is a timeless musical effort based on the existential photographic poetry of Yulia Kazban.

At the distance this forthcoming album is
a resolutely dark ambient neoclassical release but from a closer
listening it defies the canonical schemas of genre . The musical
argument reaches a synthesis and an harmonious conversation between
consonant acoustic minimalism and warmly nostalgic emotional ambiences
with a great sense of romanticism and experimentalism.

Currently in progress this work will attempt a
symbiosis of acoustic microtonal figures with stylistic forms of sound
lyricism and processed looped textures. With a certain sense of
mystery, tension and melancholy as well as with a strongly emotional
cinematic shape, the music will try to reflect, approach and translate
into words and sound-colors the introspective search on the immaterial
expression of beauty. Outside of Day Before Us’ soloing early
experiments and regular musical forma, this effort will announce a
musical chemistry between two sound-creators in a heavenly ambient
style. Philippe will be responsible of the instrumental side while
Eufrosyne will lead vocal explorations in between neo-folk, poetical
recitatives and operatic qualities.
Day Before Us – “Autumnal wandering” [CD + Digital, Cathedral Transmissions Records]
Autumnal wandering is a soundscaping based project
largely impregnated by the purest incantatory-visionary forms of the
Austrian-German “weltschmerz” poetical tradition (from the mystically
haunted Christian symbolism of Georg Trakl, to the dreamlike romanticism
of Ludwig Tieck and the tormented ecstasies of Nicolaus Lenau).
Musically, the whole compositional process is turned to infinitely
melancholic, sinister and epic semi-acoustic neoclassical sound
textures, electronic drone in-flux, blurry organic chords and deeply
emotional poetical lyricism. For this last project, Philippe Blache (Day
Before Us) is accompanied by the vocalist and electronic sound designer
Markus Pape (M@p).
